Senator Talks About Lewd Conduct Arrest
http://www.wrcbtv.com/news/index.cfm?sid=10837

U-S Senator Larry Craig vigorously denied police claims of lewd conduct in an airport restroom Tuesday, adding that he is not gay.

The Senator says the only thing he did wrong was plead guilty to disorderly conduct, hoping to quietly dispose of the matter.

"I am not gay. I love my wife," told a crowd of reporters outside of his Boise office.

"I chose to plead guilty to a lesser charge in hopes of making it go away," Craig said in his first public statement since the arrest was made public.

For months the Idaho Statesman newspaper has been digging into rumors about the Senator's sexuality that date back 40 years, including an alleged tryst in a restroom at Washington's Union Station.

Still, the Senator blamed his problems on the paper.
