It's incredible, really. Some people on DU are apparently human lie-detector machines and/or mind readers.

Examples:

If your candidate says something that you agree with, he or she is always telling the truth. Always. Even if he or she is just pandering to a specific audience.

If your candidate tells a falsehood or takes a stance that you personally disagree with, he or she was just misinterpreted or misunderstood. We will then be told what the candidate *really* meant.

In other words, your candidate always tells the truth, and if he or she is lying, he or she is really telling the truth.

If a candidate you don't support says something that you agree with, he or she must be lying. Candidates other than your own *always* lie.

Did I say always? I meant always, except for the following:

If a candidate you don't support says something that you disagree with, and by extension, something you can use to attack said candidate, he or she is suddenly telling the truth.

In other words, all of the other candidates always lie, unless a statement can be used against them. Then, they're telling the truth.

Got all that? :)
