Obama National Campaign Staffer: "I will not let him lose. I give you my word."

Take this for what you want. But it is my personal experience. Many of you already know that I live in Texas and let the Obama National campaign use my office to campaign in my county (which went for Obama 60/40 in the primary and 70/30 after the county caucus.) On the day after the Texas primary, I was talking to one of the national campaign workers. I was bitching to him about how I wanted Obama to aggressively respond to and attack Clinton over her ads in Texas and Ohio so that Texas could have gone straight to Obama on primary day. (Fortunately, Obama ultimately won Texas in the caucus).

This worker, top notch Harvard grad from the South, looked at me dead on and said, "I promise you, Jean (my name), I will not let Obama lose this primary or the election. I give you my word." I just cried and felt a wave of relief. On that day, I just surrendered and decided that Obama knows a lot more than I do about running a campaign and I just need to trust that he has it handled. For many of you reading this, you may think me naive for believing what this guy had to say. But I believe him. He knows more than we do about the campaign and what stink bombs await for Obama's opponents. So, have faith, my DU brethren. I do.
