19. Life does begin at conception.
I say this as someone who has campaigned for women's reproductive freedom, and as the male participant in two pregnancies that were terminated following mutual agreement, very painfully arrived at, between my girlfriend at the time and myself. I don't like to see this issue trivialized and sound-bitten.

I don't care for a lot of things that come out of Clinton's mouth, especially these days, but I have no quarrel with her on this. It's 20 years since the first abortion I was personally involved with, and it still haunts me, and I expect it always will.

Was it murder? No. Did it terminate a life? No question. This is a moral dilemma for many people. It was even more of a moral dilemma for my Italian Catholic girlfriend. It was hard the first time, because I wanted to have a child and she didn't. It was even harder the second time, when she wanted to have a child and I didn't. We both suffered terribly, she - unquestionably - much more than me.

Clinton is not mistaken here, IMHO, no matter what has appeared on posters and banners for decades.

My 2 cents, anyway.
