since marriage is a religious institution why is there a fuss about civil unions?
my marriage was performed by the church but my union was registered with the government
no religious rite need be done for a civil wedding and in fact is, imo, outlawed under the 1st amendment
so any "marriage" the government acknowledges is in fact a civil union
so why the fuss?

im not being obtuse i just dont understand how this causes the feeling of jim crow
