173. This makes me want to vomit...
I'm glad to know that I can come to a place like this and see that there are plenty of people in this country who actually have something on the ball, and are as disgusted as I am with the way the media consistently and flagrantly broadcast pure falsehood. I, personally, cannot stomach any of the news that is on television, and don't watch any of it. I became disillusioned with TV news while working as a stringer for a few of the local stations. I would go out and shoot at least 30 min. of tape on any subject, lots more if it was bloody, and see all of that compressed in to 45 sec. of the most shocking/interesting/whatever shots, and a sound bite. All the images presented are put together by people who have a specific intent to 1.) titillate the masses, and 2.) make sure that sponsor revenue keeps coming in, period. Plain and simple, they are not going to show you too much that will piss off the moneybags. To see the amount of distortion of the truth that occurred frankly turned me off from pursuing that career any further. I didn't last 6 months. The mainstream media is incapable from reporting on the unbiased truth because their very existence depends on the flow of money from companies who advertise with them. As much as it disgusts me, I am a bit intrigued by the cunning with which this whole scheme was put into place. Television is just a vehicle for companies to advertise. These same companies also influence our legislative process through lobbying and donations in order to ensure that the government passes laws primarily designed to benefit them. How in the hell would the television people make any money if they were constantly allowing their news agencies to bash them and their pet politicians? These corporate fucks have whole networks dedicated to spewing nothing but mindless psuedonews, in an attempt to not only control your money, but your whole view of the world. I don't really trust any of it. These "polls" are just another example of how corporate America really views all of us; a bunch of bumblefuck nabobs who don't care about "facts", just give us a good fight!
