The fact is, what we're seeing is the Bradley effect. It's strong enough to make this look like a reasonably competitive election but it's not strong enough to beat him. More on that...

I think Obama's opposition is soft. Like it or not, this is a big step for some people. You and I had to take it for them. Once he's in and starts getting rolling, the reservations some people have will melt away. They may not be able to vote for a black man for President but they'll be able to vote for the President if he's black (if you see what I mean).
