Mayor McCrory - "Now that the bill has passed, I want it to work the best way it can."

This is a quote from one of the GOP mayors that met with the President today (there were mayors from both parties of course) re: the stimulus money. From a purely political standpoint, this was the best GOP reaction I've seen so far and Mayor McCrory (Charlotte) is to be commended. He made it clear that he didn't support the bill when it was being debated (as was his right) but has resigned himself to the fact that it DID pass and it's the best interest of his city to work with the President (and take his money lol.)

Why do some of the other GOP leaders have to make it so complicated? I know, they're doing it for political reasons, knowing that banking (literally) on the bill's failure is their only hope for election victories in the future. But it's refreshing to see that at LEAST ONE of them has some common sense and is really trying to do what's best for his people.

He went on to say, "I was very pleased with Pres. Obama's comment regarding accountablity." (Barack said that he would personally make sure that the money was being used properly on the local level.)
