His media reach in the UK is even broader than the USA, but the counterbalance is much better. Their media laws are different than ours as well as their slander/libel statutes. He owns the primary satellite system and has multiple entertainment channels in addition to the news. Sky News is more like CNN with a center-right thread. He has clearly taken advantage of the US media deregulation to entrench his operations and uses it to further his corporate agenda by callously abusing the airways to poison the public discussions.

There is a reason that they based the media baron villain in the Bond film on Murdoch. If you could create the news, you will have the scoop each time. It's only a matter of degrees and not too sure there are six degrees of separation between the film and the real man.
