I was thinking the same thing. The republican party is being taken over by the neocons and most other repubs just go along. I live in a very blue state (California) but in a conservative county which went for bush. I know these people. They would never vote for a democrat but they are socially tolerant and pro-environment. They had no idea their choice in this election was between fascism and democracy. They just voted for the repub like they always do. There are LOTS of republicans who are upset about the direction of their party. You might be surprised at how close their beliefs are to ours.
