Thanks for being so honest about what's going on with you. I understand and share many of your feelings. You're definitely not alone.

I have felt so devastated lately about the state of this country and what Bush has done.

Tomorrow will be very difficult.

I'm having a very hard time right now.

I have two preschool-aged girls and I'm wondering what kind of world I've brought them into. They're spirited, amazing little girls. I know that remaining positive is in their best interests. However, it's very hard right now. Iraq is crumbling. Iran is looming. How far will the neocons go? It's very distressing.

I grapple with wanting to leave the country, actually. That makes me sad. It makes me feel unpatriotic and like a quitter. However, it's what I feel right now.

I'm usually a very positive, upbeat person--but, like you, I feel a bit hopeless right now.

Maybe sometimes it's just ok to wallow in sadness. Maybe it's our minds' way of grieving the loss of the election, what might have been and the current state of affairs. Maybe feeling the sadness is a holding pattern which is ok to stay in for a while--before we are ready to fight.
