Talk about passive aggressive. The machine manufacturers, forced to generate a paper ballot, are generating a lousy one. Now we’re having a debate over the durability of the paper ballots produced by the lousy machine. We are entering into the “silly season” of our political and social history. We can’t even figure out how to generate a free and fair election. We are letting the least of us generate catastrophe for the most.

County commissioners to discuss new voting machines

(RALEIGH) -- Voting machines are back on the table Monday in Wake County.

Commissioners delayed approving federal funding for new voting equipment last week because a small portion of the money would be used to buy two touch-screen machines.

The delay gave commissioners time to talk about alternatives to buying the machines.

Critics say they don't think the paper receipt the machines print will stand up to a hand recount.
