I've decided that after more than 15 years of pining away and putting off for the future, I'm finally going to reward myself and buy the Les Paul I've been wanting for so long. I figure I owe it to myself, and there's nothing I want more in this world (outside of intangible things like healthy kids, etc.) Here's my question for the more avid musicians in the house: I've found the exact model I want at Guitar Center, but I'm kind of a neurotic "saver," in that I don't want to rush out and buy something if I think I'm going to be able to save a few bucks on it by waiting. Now, I've heard that Guitar Center often has good after-Christmas sales, but I can't confirm that anyplace. I've also heard they're willing to give deep discounts close to New Year's because they don't want to pay inventory taxes. Is any of this true? Is there likely to be a big after-Christmas sale at Guitar Center? Because if there is, I'm willing to hold off a few weeks, but you really have no idea how badly I'm chomping at the bit to go get this thing. I've been lusting after a Les Paul ever since I was old enough to realize that they're awesome. Now, for the first time, I have the wherewithal (financially and otherwise) to go get one, but I want a deal. Any advice from the musicians?
