we could say that free will would negate the wish - as if one person could wish away a problem that we all ought to be concerned with fixing, it would take from the rest of us the free will and moral obligation to be part of that solution.

I think God puts that in our hands - with the hope that of our free will, we will respect one another in the biggest, broadest sense, feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, etc.

I couldn't begin to really see what the ramifications would be of one person waving a magic wand and fixing all that. Lovely as it is to think about, the potential is just bigger than I'm capable of foreseeing.
