There's only a small handful of established marketable QBs in the League right now, and he happens to be one of them. But I try not to hold how the League markets a guy against the guy (to an extent). Most of the time the player has nothing to do with how they use him to sell the game. They just go with who puts the most asses in the seats and in front of the tv's, and that's almost always the best players.

Overall, I've always felt he's been an above average, at times excellent, QB. The argument that some make about him throwing too many picks doesn't really hold us when compared to the touchdown to interception ratio of Hall of Fame QBs. At the worst, the pick ratio is slightly higher than a few of the greats, and at best it's way better than some of these guys (what's up with Namath?!?!).

Favre - 448 - 291
Marino - 420 -252
Montana - 272 - 139
Young - 232 - 107
Starr - 152 - 132
Staubach - 153 - 109
Bradshaw 212 -210
Kelly - 237 - 175
Namath - 173 - 220
Unitas - 290 - 253
Elway - 300 - 226

But it still seemed like the writer has a bit of a grudge to me.
