Some politicians want people to vote on Gay Marriage and that's fine...

If you want to vote on others rights, OK, I guess I can get behind that.

So when do we get to vote on the rights of other people? Interracial marriage? Unmarried couples living together? Divorce and remarriage (especially for some politicians)? Marriage of the elderly (where there's likely not going to be children created)? And the list goes on.

Why do we get to vote on the rights of ONE group of people? Why does the majority get to supress the rights of a minority?

I'm sorry, for a second I thought I lived in the United States of America.
