What kind of wireless adapter do you have? To find out-

Right click on "My Network Places" and select "Properties"
When the Network Connections list comes up-
Right click on "Wireless Network Connection" and select "Properties"
At the top of this dialog will be a box that says "Connect Using"
In that box will be the name / brand / model number of your wireless adapter.
Go go Google and search for "software and drivers" for your adapter.
Install this.
This is the software you want controlling your wireless adapter, not the Windows Wireless Zero.

So, now you need to turn off Windows Wireless Zero

Hit Start, in the Run box type "services.msc" (no quotes) and hit Enter.

This will launch the Windows Services configuration center.

Scroll down the list to "Wireless Zero Configuration"
Right click on that entry and select "Stop".
Right click again and select "Properties".
Change the Startup Type from "Automatic" to "Disabled"

This will stop windows from controlling your wireless adapter.
