Forms aren't destined to undergo such a radical transformation if they are a valid part of the soul purpose of an individual or collective.

If we look back at Pluto's transit through Sagitarrius (religion, law, philosophy, etc), we can see that there are still churches standing and people still attending. We also had revealed to us the ugly underbelly, or extreme expressions of religious zeal both in this country and abroad. It was there before this time period, but the bottom of that cesspool was stirred up and all the long forgotten and unconscious pieces came floating up to our conscious awareness where we could see and
interact with it. We found how our ego/personality was cloaked in righteousness and masquerading as divine purpose and the will of 'god'. In fact our projected 'gods' looked alot like us. And it also stirred up ancient forms of belief such as Paganism, in search of a deeper root for establishing that Divine connection.

As hardships and fears entered into our lives and we no longer felt we had control or could rely on our familiar props to hold up our lives, we became disoriented looking for a new more meaningful point of reference. Many began to look deeper into their faith and into their relationship with God. Some felt betrayed or let down by their religious beliefs or felt it did not provide the depth or comfort and connection with the Divine that they sought. This longing for direct connection has begun to empty churches of all denominations, and attendence has gone down. In this way religion as we have known it is dying or transforming in answer to our longing. This movement is not finished but will continue. We had to hit that wall in order to discover how 'unreal' or insubstantial our previous religious path had become.

Fundamentalism was a reaction to this broader shift, and is what happens when one clings to the form out of fear rather than embracing transformation. Fear is not a foundation upon which anything can be built and sustained for long, so fundamentalism will die a slow agonizing death.

There are a million more examples of Pluto in Sagitarrius (for instance the role of law which has been breaking down, corrupted etc.). Some shifts are subtle and deep though no less important or significant to the vaster changes that are in our face or crashing down around us. And some time down the road we'll wake up and discover how deep the transitions and transformations really are at the most fundamental level.

And this is how consensus reality dies and shifts as though some huge terrifying wave has picked us up off the shore, tossed us down into its depths and turned us over and over as it rolled across a vast ocean and threw us up on a distant shore to begin anew....from scratch. And if we can trust this process and overcome our fears we learn that our own deep soul urges are driving these changes, even if we can't see it or at first consciously choose this journey through the valley of the shadow of death, we will find that this new reality is in greater alignment with our soul purpose. And that alignment brings a pervasive peace and deepened connection to ourselves and to life.
