Now I have to rant. Besides having issues with the OP, him/herself, who posted the article on BC's thoughts on Obama's comment last night about Mr. Gates horrible situation, found here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x8546290

I have to wonder why when Whites want to defend their position they bring up Bill or BC has something to say. This man is one of the guys who fits the role of a Ron Christie like guy...the kind of guy who's paid to diss Black people. When he talks about race it's always always always to disparage Blacks and/or marginalize Blacks. There is no understanding or seeming to care about the past issues we have faced and still face. The Civil Rights seemed lost on him from time to time and I'm wondering why people consider him so worth while.


I personally loved and appreciated Obama's comment. The man showed his ID with his address, at that point there's no arrest needed. That's the whole thing, if he does or says anything you need to apologize and move on. His ID was proof enough----every damned White Person on this site this happened too would have acted the same way if he yelled or not. Why, because they would say, "I'm in my home, I showed you proof." But I see idiots on this site defending the arrest...fuck that shit.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I was too young for the Civil Rights movement and as a First generation Haitian American I benefited for the struggles of my forefathers (Not Washington) in this nation. Ditto in Haiti, but we had been experiencing freedom in degrees for years. In any event, because I have reaped many of the benefits from the struggles of early Black Americans I am grateful. However, I am also fully aware that their struggle still lives on; despite a Black President I have seen more racism in a period of hours over one topic than I have in my full years on Earth. And living in New York City I have had my share of racism. The South is not exclusive to racism. When candidate Obama came on the scene I was given a crash course into the Civil Rights movement, post his election I'm given a crash course into segregation.
