Tough to use. Really "stops down" the exposure. IMO it's best to go full manual which can be difficult because you get shoved down the exposure stairs about 2 to 3 steps. Or, use spot metering. Lock the exposure on one spot then step back up the stairs using EC. But then... the background. And if you don't want the focus to go "soft" at full zoom you'll need to crank up the f stop.

I'm sorry, what were we talking about?
