the place, despite our best efforts to keep it hidden. God damn them. Camps on Maidstone Lake, for Christ's sake, which is about as in the middle of nowhere as you can get, are going for half a million bucks these days.

It used to be that people who lived in those towns could afford a camp "on the lake" if they had a few extra bucks, but no more.

I weep for my home.
