22. Probably the most tragic/ironic moments of the debates
Al's mere physical presence cowed the pretender and put a clear exclamation point on the whole debate process. It was a man of substance and intellect vs. a craven coward. That the media played up Barb's concerns that her son would be hurt turned on Al to claim he bullied the punk. The irony is that the 'tough Texan' was so obviously out gunned and showed no capacity to project the strong leadership our country would soon need desperately. The tragedy is that this slander set the stage to allow the Repugnants to steal our country and bring us to the sorry state we now endure. Al's decency and sense of fair play led him to assess himself and he altered performance. Does anyone think that if Chimpy had managed such a moment that he wouldn't have exploited it and taken it even farther? Gentleman Al didn't have it in his heart to pound an obvious loser and was stabbed in the back by the referees for his kindness.
