Yes some will support him, the hardliners, however it is a state filled with moderates and Lowell Weicker, who is well respected in the state and bears no love for hapless Joe, has stated his intent to use his influence with mod. pubs and indies on Lamont's behalf. In addition one week in politics is a long time, over two months is an eternity. I predict that by the end of Sept. he will manage to shoot himself in the foot. He's feeling like a victim right now and having a real pity party but I can see how in time, with no real new message, people will get tired of his whine and looking at his petulant puss.

The time to throw in the towel is after the votes have been counted.
