82. Or any other Republican, for that matter
George W. Bush may turn out to be the best friend the Democratic Party ever had.

By November, we're probably going to be looking at around 3000 American KIAs--and if anyone ever drops the number of guys who were wounded in action then died of those wounds, and adds it to the number of people who died before they reached the medical system, we're probably looking more at six thousand guys. Anyway, it's a lot of troops.

By November, the financial triple-whammy of ARMs adjusting to the point where people can't afford their mortgages coupled with a shit homebuyers market and the Bush Bankruptcy Act will turn a LOT of current homeowners into renters...and turn a lot of mortgages into worthless paper.

Gonna be lots of joblessness, and we farted away much of America's wealth-creation capacity. There are four wealth-creating industries: mining, agriculture, forestry and manufacturing. Agriculture belongs to big business, forestry is going away due to clearcutting, and manufacturing is either in Mexico or on the other side of the Pacific Rim. And I assume that lots of American ore is being smelted in Chinese plants because we have environmental laws and they don't so much. Service-based economies aren't all that sustainable.
