When you have to compose a response to a parent and you know he or she will not enjoy the composition, it can make your heart race and your memories come flying back. But you overcame your very decent, respectful nature and responded well.

The truth always wins, but many of these poor, deluded souls have no idea of the truth. You have to just keep trying, as you are doing.

Listen, I've been hideous in the past to Repukes. Just returned to work with one who took a lot of grief from us liberals on the job. Something sunk in, though, because he actually talked to a co-worker about voting for Harold Ford, Jr. he claims Corker is "a crook." I almost fainted when I heard this.

It's early in the school year so I haven't yet razzed him, and I don't plan to jinx anything by teasing him now... unless circumstances warrant a return trip to the truth. ;)

P.S. and the Irish reference was priceless. Can't wait to hear his response to that one. Your dad must be horrified, but just remember he's not nearly as horrified as he should be....:grr:
