It is in today's Times Union (Albany).

ALBANY -- Amid sharp criticism from Democrats and labor unions, U.S. Rep. John Sweeney sought guidance from the House Committee Wednesday on how he should handle the reporting of his 2001 trip to a Pacific island in the company of a now-convicted lobbyist.

In a letter released by the Clifton Park Republican's office, Sweeney said he traveled to the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands with "the understanding" that the trip was paid for by the CNMI government.

Is it just me or is he trying to put the blame on someone else?

And by the way, Kirsten's response was: "It is no surprise that John Sweeney is in trouble again," Gillibrand said in a statement. "It's not clear what's worse: his failure to disclose that a criminal paid for his trip abroad, or that he was willing to sing the praises of an island of sweatshops and child prostitution."
