"Mr. Bush, I was not speaking of the brave men and women who are serving our country in uniform, and with whom I am proud to have served (an opportunity which you yourself sadly missed), but rather my remarks were directed at you.
"Once you apologize to the nearly 3,000 American families who have lost loved ones because their commander in chief was mistaken in believing that Iraq had weapons of Mass destruction, that we could bring democracy to Iraq by military force, and that the Iraquis were sponsors of international terrorism, AND...
"Once you apologize to America's children and grandchildren for the enormous debt which they will pay so that your corporate friends can make record profits this year, thus diminishing their own economic prospects life, AND....
"Once you apologize to the residents of New Orleans for not having funded the construction which could have averted the destruction of their beloved city, and for not having competent people in federal emergency management, and for not responding to warnings about the destructive force of the impeding Katrina, and for not mobilizing the entire resources of the federal government once the destruction was clear, AND...
"Once you apologize to every American for not having read your August 6 2001 presidential briefing "bin Laden Determined to strike in America", nor having given credence to warnings of Clinton administration figures that bin Laden should be a top priority, and for not having acted on the Hart-Rudman report on airline safety, AND...
"Once you apologize to each and every citizen of this country, past, present AND future, for having defiled, corroded and corrupted our beloved constitution, then and only then will I
APOLOGIZE TO YOU. To our troops, who are serving ably and with honor, I am proud of you and hope that you soon will have the leadership which you deserve."
