1) Only the second time in history that the president's party has gained power in a midterm.

2) If there hasn't been enough damning evidence right on the front page of the NYT for them, then nothing else will convince them.

3) Look at Oliver North. The Iran-Contra hearings kept him out of jail. I would much rather see Bush lame and humiliated, and *continue* to be ignored. I sure as hell don't want Cheney to be president. He won't be able to get away with much now, and fixing the damage he has done will be a full time job for the legislatures.
