3. I'm sorry, I found that rather naive. I think this guy probably never had
a job as a teacher, firefighter, policeman, and felt the threat of layoffs.

I bet he never thought much about the value of international allies who feel respected, Republicans disrespect most "foreign" governments and do not, frankly, care about citizens of foreign countries, either.

Bush was willing to give all 700 billions of bank bailouts away without a single string attached, Democrats in Congress said, "hold on" we're not doing it all without some accountability". John McCain, at that time was going on TV saying the "fundamentals of our economy are sound"... Google for the clip. September, 08. I guess he didn't study the Great Depression, and how, for over 3.5 years the Republicans basically did NOTHING after the crash of 1929...didn't Hoover keep saying "prosperity is just around the corner"?

In fact I think things in Ohio or wherever this guy lives must be so isolated with his middle class home, his ability to travel to foreign countries, his rather naive knowledge of banking and economics, science, and equal pay for women, I guess it doesn't matter to Mr Bauer, upper middle class white guy who doesn't know many who are out of work, and have lost their home, their life savings, or can't get health insurance for their child because of a preexisting condition.

I guess he thinks dependency on foreign oil is just fine, and that there is a never-ending supply of oil right there in Alaska or Ohio or wherever. I bet he thinks basic scientific research, a women's right to choose, and arms reduction treaties are idle intellectual games.

If the courage and intellect of Obama is about equal to John McCain's brilliance in leadership, choosing Sarah Palin as a running mate, I'm really discouraged if THIS is the new youthful Democrat of today.
