124. In the early morming rain,
another Medic died today;
each must go his own way,
in the early morning rain.

(from an old Army cadence that I would sound off occasionally)

There is a time in all of our lives when we realize that our time has come, and we are prepared to leave this plane and travel to the next. I believe that when we reach that next plane, we meet up w/those who have gone on before us, and it makes for a one hell of a good moment.

For those who have borne the scars of battle, for those who have served to maintain the Peace; for those who have sacrificed their time in making their corner of the world just a little better, I stand and salute you. You are not muted by the grave, for you are remembered for your courage, levity and honor. The days grow shorter as I reach that line you have already crossed, the nights a re a little colder, now that you are no longer here w/your warmth, the world is a lesser place now.

Stand tall for a moment and remember.
