"Los Fusilamentos del 3 de mayo en Madrid." (1814) It depicts the massacre of Spaniards (who had rebelled against the invading Napoleon's French) in Madrid on the Third of May, 1808. The French, are represented as 'minions of the devil.'

I spent New Year's Eve this year right on that vert spot they were killed. Many young Spanish students were firing off loud firecrackers and drinking, having fun, talking about politics. One guy heard me speaking English, came over dropped his pants and said. "¡Me Cago en Bush! ¡JaJa!" - "I shit on Bush! HaHA!" then set off a bomb near us to scare us. We, of course, laughed our asses off! :D
