Oh, they hate Obama. They hate Democrats. They are dismayed at the last two elections that have put Dems in power. Perplexed. Like, "how did this happen?" I mean, the answer to that question is as obvious as the sun, right? Anyway...

This is somewhat long. If you have a suitable attention span, check out their article and my reply, and tell me what you think:

----------------
Columbia Conservative:

ometimes I wonder if I am living in la-la land. This cannot be real.

The U.S. Congress just voted to approve a massive spending bill called 'the economic stimulus package' that nobody had even read.

Here in South Carolina, the only member of our Congressional delegation to vote in favor of this spending monstrosity was Rep. John Spratt, the Democrat who represents the 5th Congressional District.

How can an intelligent, informed human being vote in favor of something that he/she has not even taken the time to read?

Of course, it wasn't as if they had plenty of time. The final bill wasn't even put together until sometime Friday morning. The document was over 1000 pages long. Yet the Congressional leadership, under Democrats Nancy Pelosi in the House and Harry Reid in the Senate, pushed for a vote on the bill as quickly as possible Friday, giving members of Congress very little time to read the document.

Yet one by one Democrats took to the floor of Congress to denounce those who planned to vote against the bill precisely because nobody really knew what all was in it, and because of its massive spending measures that fund the pet projects of liberals.

This would actually be a funny clown show if it were not dead serious.

America needs to seriously re-evaluate the decisions it made during the last 2 elections. The 2006 mid-term election put Democrats in control of Congress. And the 2008 election increased their majorities in Congress and gave us a President who seems not to have a clue about basic economics.

This is a prescription for disaster. And rest assured conservatives will be here to pick up the pieces in 2010.
-------------------------

My reply (and I missed so much):

--------------

Kurt: If no one read it, then why did conservatives attack it? We all know why - because they put party above country.

Ole W inherited a budget surplus and a strong economy, respected around the world. He left with our nation in shambles on all fronts. And you're surprised the people chose to eject the party of immoral wars of choice, "religious" law over freedom, and the good ole boy system?

What truly puzzles me is how quickly the loud chorus of self-proclaimed patriots who cheered our murderous invasion of Iraq, calling others traitors and worse, can shift gears and throw darts at Democrats who offer a change from the bush madness.

Do you remember the bush admin using the terror threat color codes to scare the populace when quuestions about their failure to prevent 9*11 arose?

Remember the calls for duct tape and plastic sheeting?

Remember the visions of "mushroom clouds over American cities" painted by condi rice on her "Let's invade Iraq" tour?

Remember the program where we were supposed to snoop on our neighbors and report suspicious activity?

Remember the president's spokesperson telling us we should "watch what we say" - ?

Remember the lies and the fear and the slander of fine American heroes like Max Cleland of our sister state GA, who left limbs on the battlefield in service to thisnation, and who faced tv ads which morphed his face into that of the still-on-the-loose Osama, simply because he refused to rubber-stamp bush's plans to attack Iraq?

Remember the wonder republican convention atendees in 04 who wore purple-heart bandaids to denegrate the military service of John Kerry?

And you guys want to preach security? And you guys want to preach integrity?
And you guys want to preach morality?
And you guys want to preach fiscal responsibilty?

Give me a break!

You're out of power because the people finally saw through your hypocrisy and shell games.

And you can whine here until eternity ends, but the nation has moved on.

And there's a dose of reality.
------------------

couple of typos but hell, I left a good punch for a few heads-up-their-asses repukes, eh?
