Unfortunately we seem to have reached a point on DU at which only the ideologically and behaviorally pure (in the eyes of the poster) are permitted to be mourned when they die. Oh, and you also aren't allowed to feel a deep sense of mourning for anyone you didn't know personally. And choosing to keep the good aspects of a person in mind rather than the bad ones, well, that's just making a saint out of someone simply because he died. *sigh*

I first became aware of how bad things were when Tim Russert died. Things have, if anything, gone downhill since.
