on AJE which reported that his campaign was based on the fact that he had been making the changes he had promised, and with the 2/3's in the legislative body, he/they/we would be able to bring about more fundamental improvements in the lives of the people.

Promise needed change for the general populace and then bring change and promise more. A good way to get re-elected.
