Will Marijuana be legal in CA? ... YES!

For those of us that have been working in the Marijuana Legalization movement for years, the goal may finally be realized in Nov 2010.

Legalization qualifies for the 2010 Ca Ballot.

The full text of the bill is quite awesome, including the expungement of many types of marijuana convictions from peoples records.

Marijuana is already decriminalized in CA and many, including myself, already have medical marijuana recommendations (Prop 215), but full legalization is an awesome prospect. I am very excited!

I do worry if this will be an off year for the liberal vote. With many progressives a little disenfranchised at the moment, they may hold back a little. I still think it will pass. Of course we still need to get out the vote. It is High Time for the prohibition to end.

The dynamic in CA is such that there is a large portion of the society that already accepts it as legal. With big city operations, continuous discussions, and even smaller rural communities actually virtually subsisting on marijuana production, this is now a much more accepted subject than it was when I began my marijuana activism in the 80's. Everyone knows getting Marijuana is now simply a doctors appointment confirming you have an ailment treatable by marijuana; frankly, most of us do have an ailment treatable by marijuana. For us, its legal now.

The financial benefit to an ailing state, the dynamic of medical marijuana, Obama Admin's discontinuing the Federal Harassment of legal clinics, the lack of good argument in opposition have created the perfect storm..and btw its not mentioned but I believe this may radically increase CA tourism as well.

So soon, in California, Marijuana will be fully legal. California will lead the way! Those of you in more oppresive states, get to work! The time in now. In the meantime, soon, stop bye CA for a visit and we'll toke one up!
