3. Politics is highly overrated as an agent of change.
Particularly, in a system that has been, and remains, corrupted by money and the ambitions of politicians who only see the next election as the motivating factor for their antics.

What is truly appalling is the citizens of this country acceptance of the system and their fear of changing it. Rather than take that risk they settle for "not as bad", promises of "someday", or "it's the system we're stuck with".

But, we, as individuals can make changes in the world. Not the grand changes promised by politicians or "leaders" that never come to be, but on an individual level that isn't tainted by ambitions and greed.

When I get the "I can't do anything" blues here's one thing I can do that restores my faith in humanity and the simple kindness of ordinary people.
