8. I'm from Houston...graduated from Tech.
I currently live in Midland. As for Lubbock, I was in school when Neugebauer was running for re-election and the Rethugs carved up the districts to force Stenholm to face Neugebauer. The thing I remember was my poly-sci professor let us have extra credit if we attended one of the debates between representatives of the two candidates. Neugebauer's son represented him. He was an angry and slimy asshole. Got offended any time Stenholm's representative criticized Neugebauer. Family and politics. Not a good idea. Too much emotion involved. lol

The other thing I remember from the 2004 election year was Neugebaur running a bunch of REALLY lame TV commercials with him him and GWB hanging out together. In West Texas, no matter what GWB did/does they still love him. To me, it was hilarious and appalling that a photo op with Bush was being used to get re-elected, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised by it given how much they support GWB here. By the way, I think the Birther phenomenon is off the charts here. I am convinced that somewhere around 80-90% of my co-workers are Birthers. They constantly send those chain emails to everyone in the company.
