Word of the gunfire near the Republican’s Richmond office comes a day after it was revealed that someone had cut a gas line to a propane grill at the home of the brother of U.S. Rep. Tom Perriello, D-Ivy.

“We do know that there were shots fired earlier this week,” said Megan Whittemore, Cantor’s deputy press secretary. The shots were fired late Monday or early Tuesday, she said.

The gunfire triggered the office’s alarm and an incident report was filed immediately. Richmond police are investigating.

“There is an ongoing investigation,” Whittemore said.

So the shots were near his office (no mention of hitting a window?) and happened early in the week and Cantor decides to announce this incident in a news conference attacking Dems for politicizing the incidents...
