106. I choose not to sit idly
by and let them (repugs) win without a fight. The members of the Democratic party need to become more pro-active in their destiny. I have told my friends and family since they are closing a lot of polling places to take advantage of the early voting systems or the absentee ballot. They never have to leave the comfort of their home.
I write my Senators and Congressmen and DNC, DCCC and ask them where are the commercials that reflect our goals. Where are the commercials that state the crazy shit that Tea baggers and Republicans say out of their mouth. There are sound bites all over the place. That have the bulls--t that they say where we can actually see it come out of their lying faces.
And even though legislation that has passed has not always been as tough as I like it, I wear the accomplishments that our President has done with a smile and proud rhetoric. When I hear somebody saying something to the contrary I make sure I point out what things this administration has done that affords them some of the things that they have. When my friends or family or someone I know has benefited from one of the pieces of legislature or stimulus, including food stamp benefits, I remind them that it was our President and this administration that made it possible. When they mention tax cuts I remind them that 95% of Americans enjoyed a tax cut holiday. It is up to us and the rest of the Democratic Party to start screaming from the rooftops. And If that doesn't get it there is always Sharon Angle,Michele Bachmann,Rand Paul, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner who wants to be speaker of the house. I think I am going to be sick.
