Two PSU professors found dead in Ore. coast house

MANZANITA, Ore. - Two Portland State University professors have been found dead in a house in the small coastal town of Manzanita, according to police.

While investigators have not officially released the names of the victims, media reports and a press release from PSU indicate the victims are likely Richard Hunter and Astrid Schlaps.

"Richard Hunter and Astrid Schlaps are valued colleagues and gifted teachers who have touched the lives of countless students over nearly two decades," said Kristi Nelson, dean of the School of Social Work, in the PSU press release.

"We are shocked and saddened by news in the media and await further information from the police." Nelson said.

Details surrounding the deaths have not yet been released.
