The "Show Some Love for Your Local and State Democrats" thread.

To counter all the (justified) negativity being hurled towards DC, let's have a thread to sing the praises of our hardworking local and state Democratic officials. I know some of them are even worse than the dead-weight in the Beltway, but many of them are among the best champions of the progressive movement.

I'll start by proposing a toast for Kansas governor Kathleen Sebelius. She's done an outstanding job of keeping things sane in one of the more red states in the country.

Also, the Democratic caucus in the Missouri legislature deserves praises. They've found a great balance between being bold in standing up for what's right and working with a GOP majority to ease the pain where possible.

Another great resource for tracking progressives at this level is the Progressive States Network:

Please share the goods about Democrats in your area who are making a difference!
