30. President Obama, if he wishes re-election, is in a strong position
to be renominated and he is very competitive against the GOP field.

The Republicans have no leader and are all at Joe Lieberman's party tonguing cocktails with lobbyists as we speak, but despite expected gains in seats in both chambers in 2010 I don't believe they'll recapture the majority in either the House or the Senate and given the fools they're running for the White House, they can write 2012 off as well.

The snarling and grumbling about Obama is coming from progressives. County chairpersons coast to coast will hew close to the property line because candidates up and down their local ballots depend on how well Main Street accepts the president's job performance and how strong (or weak) the Pukes' candidates are.

If Obama himself decided on only one term, I'd be surprised and disappointed. If he plans for two terms, I think he will be extraordinarily difficult to beat.
