53. It's not surprising and it's certainly not new.
I was 19 when I worked for General Motors at the now long gone South Gate plant in the early 80's. On my lunch break, I joined 10-15 other guys and gals in the parking lot right across the street and had at least 2 beers and a few tokes of some good weed. I can remember management people walking by and me freaking out only to be shhhushed by those partying around me because it was no big deal.

Absolutely not surprising or new.
