Several House Dems hold a Press Conference & Voice Concerns over Payroll Tax Holiday

Rep. Lloyd Doggett just held a last minute press conference with Rep. Pete DeFazio (Oregon), Rep. Ted Deutch (FL) Rep. Rush Holt (NJ), Rep. Judy Chu (Calif.) and the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare's VP Max Richtman, to discuss the harmful payroll tax holiday and an amendment Doggett will suggest to the tax deal compromise where that provision will be axed in substitution for a Make Work Pay credit. I will try to keep everyone posted of any new developments.

It was great to see people so heated. Rep. DeFazio in particular gave a pretty impassioned speech against the payroll tax holiday and the serious implications for Social Security. He hammered the point home that this is a REPUBLICAN idea and no Democrat has ever suggested this as stimulus...except Obama, that is.
