3. why not just say
"we know you're a bunch of whining racist babies, but it's a good idea to not put another president through this so we'll support the bill." Seems like that would throw the birthers off balance and remove any questions other people have about why Obama and the dems are putting up a fight. The questions are starting to be asked in places other than fox and I'd guess it's only going to get worse.

I realize there's a need to make sure there's a quick and legitimate process for verifying eligibility and not just some ass saying "I don't believe that birth certificate is real" followed by 6 months of court cases. But is seems like with only 50 states there has to be a way to set up a process for quick resolution of any issues. Maybe do the verification at the federal level so candidates don't need to redo it 50 times.

Is there a reason future candidates should not need to show they are eligible? Is there a reason Obama can't just show the states what he's already released to everyone?
