3. the abandoned pet situation is shocking
not just here in the US. It's everywhere.

Right now, animal rescuers in Japan are struggling to recover animals before Japanese government animal control gets hold of them. Why? Because if the animals are unclaimed within 72 hours, they're euthanized. If a pet parent is injured, he or she will be unable to get to the pet by then. There's a gas shortage. People are exhausted. Now they could lose their pets because they could not meet the 72 hr deadline? It's unbelievable.

Too many animals euthanized ... too many ... it's overwhelmingly heart-breaking. :cry:
