3. Definitely a conundrum and paradox, but what isn't, these days?
As with so many other things, 30 years of NeoCon/NeoLib RW Corporate Socialism (Kinder and Gentler Nazism) have painted us all (except the 0.01% rulers and their 4.99-9.99% henchmen) into a lose-lose corner.

Which is why pretty much every national issue ends with this sort of paradox that has everyone, especially the Neocom/Neolib Nobility (say that 3 times fast), willing to anything to keep the unsustainable party going for as long as possible because what oomes after will likely be hellish on many levels, as it always is when authoritarians reach their Penultimate and Final Stages.

We'll this is the beginning of Penultimate now. No doubt about it. 20 years at most until the Neocon/NeoLib Final Solution, whatever that will be.

Plus, whoever tried to get rid of the lottery, taking the puny crumbs of hope from the most deluded Subject Populace of Formerly Free People since 1932 Weimar would be political and perhaps literal suicide. Simply impossible and unthinkable.

In terms of maintaining the lunatic status quo facade while our Kinder and Gentler Nazi transformation continues to work busily behind the false front and draperies creating whatever evil soul-killing future for the bottom 80%+ that is in store shortly down the road, the lottery, TV and psychiatric drugs are essential. Remove any part of the False Reality Bubble and all may crumble.

Not that it would get anywhere near that nor would anyone be so foolish to try and provoke the American Subject Populace (we the "rabble" or "mob" or "Joe and Jane Six-Pack" or whatever the Nobility alls us in secret when it's just them talking..."meat-sacks" maybe?) in such a manner.
