4 Iraqis killed in bomb blast in Baiji

BAGHDAD, Nov. 18 (Xinhuanet) -- Four Iraqis were killed on Thursday when a roadside bomb exploded and destroyed a civilian car in the northern Iraqi city of Baiji, police said.

The blast killed two women, one man and one child, the police said, without giving further details.

The US military had no immediate comment on the incident.

The city, some 200 km north of Baghdad, has witnessed a surge in violence over the past week as the US-led forces launched a major offensive against the flashpoint city of Fallujah.

Iraqi civilians getting blown up by a bomb dropped by a plane = not news.

Good job that the USAF doesn't use delayed-action fuses (apart from the
cluster bomblets) or it could get real tricky trying to decide whether
or not it's worth reporting ... they'd have to rely on what Centcom
said was the truth ... uhh ...
