U.S. May Have Found Fallujah Militant Base (Zarqawi's base)
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=540&e=1&u=/ap/20041118/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq_041118153916

U.S. troops sweeping through Fallujah on Thursday said they believe they have found the main headquarters of the insurgent group headed by Jordanian terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

In video shot by an embedded CNN cameraman, soldiers walked through an imposing building with concrete columns and with a large sign in Arabic on the wall reading "Al Qaida Organization" and "There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger."

Inside the building, U.S. soldiers found documents, old computers, notebooks, photographs and copies of the Quran.

Al-Zarqawi last month renamed his group al-Qaida in Iraq, and his followers have been blamed for a number of deadly bombings and beheadings of foreign hostages, including three Americans and a Briton. The United States has offered a $25 million reward for his capture or killing — the same amount as for Osama bin Laden.

1. There was a sign on the wall saying 'Al Queda Organization'?
Didn't it say, "Al Queda, Inc. Bomb here please." ?

That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard...

And "some documents". And some old computers. I am glad they didn't look in my basement, if that's all it takes.

Wait a few days, and find out what wonders will turn up in these old computers.

I love the "Al-Queda Headquarters" banner. I wonder if it is a registered trademark of the BFEE.

advertising the fact. This story is a load of shit.

I don't believe that there is a "Zarqawi" leading the fight. It's just the Bush administration's efforts to put an evil face on the war.

There is an evil face. It's Dubya's and middle easterners hate it.

"building with concrete columns and with a large sign in Arabic on the wall reading "Al Qaida Organization" and "There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger."

Uh yah. I'm CERTAIN that they put the name of their group on the wall. That's probably how most super secretive terrorist organizations operatem, I'm sure. Are they listed in the Fallujah yellow pages, as well??

Is that guy working for our shadow government? No one could be that obvious... Do y'all smell a photo op?

24. CNN ( who supposedly filmed this find)
have much more low-key take on this "find"

Raid uncovers terrorist safe house
During recent house-to-house raids in southeast Falluja, U.S. and Iraqi forces uncovered what appeared to be an abandoned safe house used by insurgents loyal to both al Qaeda and wanted terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

There were two letters inside the house, one from al-Zarqawi giving instructions to two of his lieutenants in the region. Another sought money and help from the terrorist leader.

It is believed that the two lieutenants mentioned in the two letters lived in the house the troops found. It is unclear whether they escaped the violence or were killed in recent battles.

Symbols pledging loyalty to Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda network also adorned the walls of the house. Dead fighters still lay outside the house, where bombs pounded the area in recent weeks.

25. This is sloppy work, boys.
"Inside the building, U.S. soldiers found documents, old computers, notebooks, photographs and copies of the Quran."

Let me help you out here:

Inside the large concrete building, our brave soldiers found three stacks of documents (including floor plans and layouts to elementary schools), a half-dozen laptop computers, a handful of notebooks scrawled with graffiti such as "Jesus was gay," photographs of naked children and 13 copies of the Quran in a building that sounded suspiciously like a mosque!

Pleeze people. Remember that details build credibility. Ask Powell.

I don't know if the sign was visible from the outside or not--my guess is not. Probably just a piece of paper on the wall. At any rate, I'm sure it was for internal consumption.

And there's VIDEO. So unless the Army/CIA/whoever manufactured the sign and structure in a war zone, I'm inclined to believe it.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A59519-2004Nov18.html

A mural in the house indicated that it belonged to the al Qaeda organization. In the house, the soldiers found letters reportedly written by Zarqawi to his lieutenants, medical supplies from the U.S. Agency for International Development and boxes of ammunition from the Chinese and Jordanian armies and nearby they discovered medical supplies from the International Red Cross. <snip>

Soldiers also found Bush and Sharon voodoo dolls, Howard Dean's phone number, 20,000 Florida absentee ballots, several Farmer's Almanacs, A 45 copy of the Beach Boys "I Get Around", various Moveon.org stickers and a few books, among them: "Death Won't Stop Me" (Jihad From Beyond the Grave) by OBL, "How to Bomb-proof Letters and Passports" by M.Atta and "Syria on Five Dinars a Day" Author Unknown. <sarcasm>

It is all timed to look like some valiant tale of heroism. Well, I'm not buying it and I hope others will open their eyes, too.

I don't even recognize my country anymore. All of this evil that is being perpetrated in our name is horendous. It's such a shame that the US has falled to this new low.
