Diplomats: Iran Is Readying Nuke Processes |
|
By GEORGE JAHN, Associated Press Writer
VIENNA, Austria - Iran is using the last few days before it must stop all uranium enrichment to produce significant quantities of a gas that can be used to make nuclear weapons, diplomats said Friday.
Iran recently started producing uranium hexafluoride at its gas processing facilities in Isfahan, the diplomats told The Associated Press. When introduced into centrifuges and spun, the substance can be enriched into weapons-grade uranium that forms the core of nuclear warheads.
Iran last week agreed to suspend uranium enrichment and all related activities in a deal worked out with Britain, France, Germany and the European Union (news - web sites). The deal, which takes effect Monday, prohibits Iran from all uranium gas processing activities.
But the diplomats, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Tehran was exploiting the window until Monday to produce uranium hexafluoride at its Isfahan plant in central Iran.

2. You don't think we'll invade, do you? |
|
Powell said we aren't going to, so I guess there isn't anything to worry about.

9. Did you catch the Bushista on The NewsHour w/ Jim Lehrer? |
|
I don't remember who the guy was, all I recall now is that he wore a bow-tie, glasses, grey suit and was well past draft age. Whomever this guy was gave an almost verbatim rehash of the "reasons" to invade Iraq as justification to invade Iran. "...Weapons of mass destruction..." "...missiles that can hit Israel..." "...like Germany in 1938..." yaddy-yaddy-yada.
If I hadn't been so angry I just about would have puked. :puke:

7. I think it's a lot less likely now |
|
Not because of anything to do with Uranium, but because I'm guessing that China made a security deal with Iran to go along with their recent oil deal. Just a guess, but I think Iran is now part of the 'Chinese sphere of influence', to use an old Cold War term.

Not to be a candy ass or anything, but wtf is going on? How many wars will georgie porgie have to orchestrate in the same repetitive way before the lemmings 'start' to figure out this standard m.o.
AND ALL THIS BEFORE CERTIFICATION HAS EVEN BEEN COMPLETED!

8. Do diplomats observe this process? |
|
Would they recognize it if they did see it?
When did they become Nuclear Physicists?
How can I be taught to believe what they say is the truth?

They're going to invade Iran.
I talked to a Bushie not long ago about the Iran question. (He has a draft age son.) He said, "The American people won't stand for that" (an Iran invasion.) I said, "You better hope so, buddy."
Personally, I think the American people would roll over and take it, like they do everything else. Sorry, but my opinion of my countrymen has gone WAAYY down since this election.

13. There's going to be a draft soon |
|
Didn't we hear all this crap before the invasion of Iraq? There would have to be a draft since they are building a case to invade Iran. They have to convince the sheeple that an invasion is necessary... "You're either with us, or against us"... nice way to win friends and influence people.
